I rented a vehicle family van from united rental . The car had quite a bit
of damage all around the vehicle, specially on the back lift door. When I took the car back, there were 2 minor scratches left of the licence plate
They made report and make me sign a damage statement which stated lift back
severity of damage is medium. They have collected $500 from America express
and they wanted $2300 more to fix the back lift door for which they have
obtained damage estimate from foothill auto body. The damage they claim that
I have caused is very minor. The company does not want to negotiate any thing
they are very insistent of collecting entire amount to fix the whole lift door. My complaint is why I am responsible to pay for previous damage, the comp does not want to listen any arguments and wants to take legal action
against me. I reccomand every one out there not to rent any vehicle from this
company.
