When I bought my truck, used, it had a known minor transmission problem. After shopping around for prices and asking friends their impressions, I decided to take my Ford Ranger to Tokyo Toyota Repair. Even though their specialty is Japanese vehicles, they were able to quickly diagnose and fix the problem with my transmission at a price that was a steal. I haven't had any more problems with my transmission.
