We took our SUV to South Bay Auto Body following an accident that impacted the front of the car. When all was said and done, a two-week job took over a month and there were still several issues with the vehicle when we got it back.
Why did it take so long? According the Company, they found additional damage at least twice, which required the insurance adjuster to come out again. On top of that, whenever they would have to order parts, they were always "sent" the wrong parts by the supplier. This happened several times, so either they use a bad supplier or they are pushing the blame elsewhere.
When the vehicle was finally ready, we had our son pick up the vehicle on a Friday afternoon before they closed for the weekend and park it around the corner for an hour until we could come and get it. When we went to get the car, we found the following: 1) a dent in the rear driver's side door that hadn't been there when we took the car in (the accident only affected the front of the car) 2) The battery was dead 3) the visor and internal roof of the car were filthy with grease 4) the right front headlight wasn't working. South Bay Autobody was closed over the weekend so we couldn't contact them until first thing Monday morning. Once I contacted them, they retrieved the car and replaced the battery and cleaned the visor/roof, which made us happy. As we would later discover on our own, the problem with the front headlight was that it was never hooked back up before being returned to us.
However, despite the other 3 issues, which were plain carelessness on their part as far as I'm concerned, they are denying that the damage to the rear driver's side door was done by them and refusing to address the problem in subsequent talks. I will be filing a report with the BBB this weekend and due to all the issues would NEVER recommend using them to anyone.
