Review 10/20/2009
Stay away from this business and tell your friends and family to stay away from it too. Here is why: In August of 2009 I went to them to get a new set of tires for my 2007 Honda. I already knew what tires I wanted so none of that was an issue. The issue came about when an advisor who was working with me came to me and said that my car needs new shocks and struts, camber kits to help with negative camber, and rear brakes need to be cleaned and ... Read Moreadjusted. He also said that the car need new power steering fluid, fuel system flush, and transmission flush. (Keep in mind that this is 2007 honda bought in April of 2007 so it's barely 2 years old). I had them clean and adjust the rear brakes as I know that that needs to be done periodically as these cars do not have self-adjusting rear brakes like some old domestics did. But I did not have them do any of the other "recommended" services. When time came for the next oil change, I took the car to the dealership where I bought it and had their service department advise me on the things that Skip's Tires "recommended" and the dealership's service advisor who was assisting me had the techinicians do an oil and filter change and check what I asked to check. They came back and informed me that none of the "recommended" services were necessary. Everything was good. Now, if the dealership wanted to pull a fast one on me, wouldn't they told me that new shocks and struts are needed? They also did a number on my mom's car. She had a routine oil and filter change done there a few days ago and yesterday her AC started making noise and she could feel a burning smell coming from the vents. She took her car to a different shop and had them look at it and they found that the AC belt was soaked in motor oil leaking from the poorly tightened oil filter. Skip's "recommendations" to her were as follows: clean and adjust brakes, power steering flush, transmission flush, fuel system flush, new shocks and struts.
