I have been living in Irvine, CA and recently decided to relocate back to Salt Lake City, Utah. I had wondered how I was going to fit my furniture and belongings coming from a 1400 sq ft condo to a 990 sq ft apartment - Fidelity Van Lines solved the problem for me. They did not deliver my king bed, Lazy boy recliner and four of the twenty two boxes that they loaded. Two of the boxes had been repacked into their original boxes: a Sony CD player and speakers for my 55" T.V, and a Dell box containing a sound system for my Dell computer - which may have made them a target. My Mitsubishi T.V. was damaged on three of its four sides - the front piece was “banged off it's installation and the sides were curled up from the impact. My computer bookcase was not taken apart on pickup with the working supervisor saying that it would travel well. When the delivery workers unloaded it they pointed out the damage to the book case and to the side. When they were trying to carry it into my apartment - it struck an overhang and the one side fell off. Many of the boxes were mangled and one box fell at my entry breaking all of the glassware and collector dinner plates. I was just in my master bedroom staring at the bed rails and thought how wonderful it would be to have a bed to sleep in and I really will miss relaxing in my nearly new lazy boy chair. I was offered a brown leather chair and a workout machine that were the last items on the truck but since they were not mine I declined; besides they would only boost the amount of sq feet needed for me to be comfortable in my house. I noticed that the first check that I had written to Fidelity had been deposited by "Discount Movers into a Wells Fargo branch" I have been a customer of Fidelity since late July 2007 and it took them 17 days before they "delivered" my property. I will try to resolve this matter and will try all three avenues to recover my losses which I estimate to be at $4,500.00
