Do not use Riteaway

After waiting almost 2 days to have someone check out our hot water heater, a technician finally arrived on the 2nd day at 4pm. Sadly, the technician did not know how to work on a tankless water heater even though my husband had contacted the office that morning to verify that we had a tankless heater and was informed the technician would be able to work on it. The technician tried calling the manufacturer but they are located back east and were closed. He then called the only technician this office has that knows tankless heaters, spoke to him for a bit and took a couple of pictures. He got off of the phone and proceeded to inform my husband that the repair probably would not be covered. Not sure how he know this since he is not qualified to work on this issues. The next morning he was back to take another picture or two and then leaves. Later in the afternoon we are informed that the insurance will not cover the repair and it will be $2700 to replace the unit. All without a qualified technician looking at it. After speaking with the insurance, it appears Riteaway reported that the unit was not maintained properly. Not sure how you can say that when you don't have a qualified technician able to look at the unit. Appears to be a scam to get more money out of customers desperate to have hot water and a shower.
