Disappointing Experience With Pavlus
|
Based on the recommendation of a friend I booked a cruise with Pavlus on Azamara in 2015. All went pretty well and I was very satisfied with the customer service representative I had at the time though unfortunately she left Pavlus before my last booking. At any rate based on that experience I booked a recent cruise to Australia with Viking. I'm sorry to say I also recommended that a friend, Rob Aronson, book the same trip. We booked the trip through Michael Steudle, but after the booking we found it impossible to reach him and he left many unreturned calls. Whenever, I asked for him, the receptionist would come back to say he was in a meeting. After that I asked to speak to another representative whose name was Paul Neuenschwander. Supposedly he was going to get back to me to answer questions, but it turned out he was going on vacation and was out of the office the following week so I never heard from him. In the meantime both Rob Aronson and I received flight schedules from Viking and we were concerned because of tight connections. Rob Aronson became so frustrated because he could not reach Michael or Paul so he cancelled his reservation before final payment was due. As it turned out I was right to be concerned about flight connections because we missed our first connection in Dallas. By this time I was dealing with Donna Dominquez who was responsive in calling me back but was unable to get Viking to change our flight schedule. I was mistakenly led to believe that by purchasing Air Plus we would have some flexibility, but that was a total waste of money. Apparently, Donna was unaware that I could not talk directly to Viking about the air itinerary so trying to have Donna convey my preferences to Viking turned out to be a fruitless and frustrating experience.
