I was contacted personally by Shawn Kohen (NEW WORLD MORTGAGE) to perform a loan signing in Hawaii (on Oahu) on 06/02/2007. I printed 200+ pages of documents, drove a total of 60 miles, and completed the signing. Upon following up on the unpaid signing, I was told by Loan Processer Brad Sills that the loan did not go through and that there were no available funds in that file to pay me. I was referred by Brad Sills to speak with Shawn Kohen about payment. Shawn e-mailed the directive for me to contact the borrower directly to collect payment, as "the borrower was the one that cancelled the loan." If you are a Notary Signing Agent, please be aware of the unethical and dishonest business practices of these individuals.
