My experience with Mercury is very similar to yours. My 16 year old daughter had been in an accident causing a claim with another company prior to our change to Mercury. The previous company had not changed our rates . We only changed to Mercury for auto insurance because they were giving us a good rate for bundling our auto and homeowners. After changing to there insurance we get a phone call . They tell us she was at fault rather it was legally called that or not . And guess what? They were raising our insurance $120 per month. So I canceled and switched to another company. Now they want to back bill me for $269 even though I paid what they billed me monthly. I do not find it right they raised my rates and should have at least given me the first quoted rate for first six months.
