A Brighter Financial Future
|
Kevin Du and Joseph Ibarra of The Law Offices of James B. Smith recently accomplished what I simply could not do after two after two years of diligent and persistent effort-successfully modify my first mortgage. While the banks may claim they are there to help distressed homeowners, my experience going it alone proved otherwise.
As a result, what Kevin and the team achieved on our behalf is remarkable. Anybody out there who has endured this process in the hopes of saving your home (and your peace of mind) but in the end failed, knows exactly what I mean.
Over a two year period, reaching out to my bank, federal and state agencies and other so-call modification consultants, I got nowhere and was facing imminent foreclosure.
My financial institution was especially complicit in this matter. I must have worked through 10 customer services reps and multiple redundant faxings of financial data only to be declined a modification on three occasions without reasonable explanation.
By the time I reached out to Kevin, I was at the end of my rope and out of options, convinced more than ever that one of the most effective ways for the banks to foreclose on homeowners is to wait them out until their abandon any attempt at resolving their loan problems.
Kevin and his team approached my case methodically and expertly. They contacted me on a regular basis by phone and email throughout the process and negotiated with the bank on my behalf with patience and persistence. When the bank pushed back, they forged ahead. When certain anxiety-provoking deadlines loomed on the horizon, they assured me that we had a good shot at a modification, but that we had to stay the course.
In the end, the bank modified my loan. To say that I could not have done it without the help of these attorneys would be a gross understatement. Anybody seeking a modification or other financial relief in the current economic climate without reputable and competent assistance will at best be humbled by the experience and at worst will be wasting valuable time.
There are several other matters that we are working through, but what Kevin predicted would occur as a result of this process is happening-I will end up in a better financial position overall as a result of retaining the services of this firm.
For those of you on the fence about retaining professional services to represent your case, allow me to echo the sentiments of the other testimonials on this site and, as was the case when I first contact the firm, offer to speak to you individually should Kevin and the team request that I do so.
