My husband surprised me with a gondola cruise for our anniversary (I thought we were going out to dinner at a restaurant on the water) and it was absolutely incredible. We had a complete dinner on the boat. I had filet mignon which was to die for and my husband had salmon which he said was excellent (I don't eat fish so I didn't taste it). Followed up by some incredible cheesecake. I thought the surprises were over for the evening when a bottle bobbed up next to me in the water and the gondolier asked me to grab it. Inside was the most romantic scroll from my husband, tied with a red ribbon on old-fashioned parchment paper. Then the gondolier handed me a rose and wished me a happy anniversary. The gondolier sang to us during the cruise and he had an incredible voice. He also played romantic music some of the time, but I loved it when he sang. He reminded me of Pavorotti. The water was calm and the moon was bright and it couldn't have been a more perfect night. The gondolier reminded us to kiss under every bridge and told us stories of old traditions from Venice.
At the end of the cruise, the gondolier presented us with a beautiful silver box to keep my bottle message in. The bottle fit in it perfectly and I can keep it on my mantle as a reminder of a perfect evening. Kudos to Gondola Adventures for a job well done and a customer for life. I've told everyone I know about the amazing experience.
