I will NOT be using Drain Aid Plumbing again. I called the business phone number on the business card, and was given a voicemail to call another number. I called the number, which had no message at all. So I finally got ahold of someone via the cell phone number on the business card. On May 2, 2011, Rick O'brien came to replace my water heater. He had come out the day before, and gave me a quote of $1000 (a "flat rate" he said). He talked fast and did not spend much time with me. At the time, I brushed it off. He also told me it would be two hours in labor. The following day, he spent only an hour and 15 minutes (the 15 minutes was to go buy a part), but did not reduce his price. This seemed fishy to me. He ended up charging me $1100 (so much for the "flat rate"). When he was done, he could not produce an invoice because he "left his invoice book" somewhere. Again, he was in a hurry. He stated he would have "his company office" send me an invoice. After he left, I believed I had been ripped off. I was not surprised when the invoice did not come, and had to call him. He said he would have his wife send it ("the office"). I got it the next day via email, with just the total written on it--no break down of parts and labor. When I inquired with his wife, she stated via email that "they don't do that--it's just a flat rate". I also found it odd that there was no business location address on the invoice. I won't be making that mistake again.
