I rented a cabin on Homeaway.com. The property was managed by Destination Big Bear. I rented the cabin on Tuesday February 7th. I received a call on Thursday February 9th stating that the property was no longer available for rent at all. There were no apologies. The agent indicated that a similar property was available. However, the property was not similar at all. I checked my billing statement on Thursday night and there was a POSTED charge for the cabin. How is it possible to charge for something you do not have? Come to find out, the property was sold on 12/20/2016. The agent said "oh this happens all the time". I called this morning, Friday, February 10th and asked why they would charge me for something they don't have? The agent said he would process the refund asap. I asked why that was not done the day before when we had spoken? No answers. Bad attitudes and bad business practices.
