First off they were more than an hour late for the initial appt. Then we were charged up front payment for a Leak Detection. Their employee Matt was here for about an hour. There was some mold inside a closet and linen cupboard by the walls. Matt asked my husband to go pull back the carpet. (Later we were told by the repair company that they NEVER should have even gone past seeing the mold on the carpet. They should have stopped right then.)
Anyhow, we paid for the "detection" but Matt said they could not find anything because it was in the walls and we needed to have someone else come out and cut the drywall etc, then he could come back and 'find' the leak. I called the repair company and they said Matt could have cut the drywall himself and at minimum Matt should have marked the areas he needed cut, or believed was a problem. I called Matt back and he said yes that was true, but he was too far away to come back and even mark the walls.
The insurance repair company found the leak when they pulled off the drywall. Called Matt several times about coming out to repair the leak. Slow to respond and then said his schedule was too full. A few days later he sent another man from their company to repair the leak. Cost another $100 for that, even though American had not done the work for the initial $275 we paid. While the 2nd man from American Leak was here, he could not get Matt to respond on the phone to him, when he tried to call to see exactly what Matt HAD done when he was out here. That man even called the office and the office could not get Matt to respond.
All in all, I would NOT suggest calling this company at all. I feel we paid for a service we did not receive. No timely response by Matt. In the long run it is costing us more because the leak was going on for longer.
