What do you think of the extended warranty for the Hyundai Accent?

Gerald,

Hyundai has four extended warranty plans :Powertrain, Silver, Gold Plus and Platinum plans) all cover various components of the vehicle.

When choosing an extended warranty plan, be sure to review the list of components it will cover since they are usually not bumper-to-bumper.

Don't fall for a good sales pitch, be smart and ask for documentation of what the plan covers and requirements to fulfill claims and cancellation terms.

The warranty was $1100 and was supposed to be bumper to bumper for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Doesn't sound right to you I suppose? Thanks Gerry

Did you get a copy of the warranty and what components it covers? That would be the determining factor for you.

Was it purchased at the dealership or a 3rd party company?

The dealership should have brochures on what warranties they offer which list coverage.

If you purchased it from a 3rd party, they should've provided you the same information but since 3rd party auto warranty companies are a problematic industry, I would need to know who they are to locate a report before we would know what their business practices are about.

Let me know

Did not buy it yet. I'll get a copy from the Hyundai dealer before I buy. Gerry

That would be a good idea. If your shopping for one, be sure to compare each warranty before making your purchase and pay close attention to components that are small but costly, those will be the money savers!!

Best of luck!
